About the Maker

Gabrielle Kraus, a Minnesota native, who lives and works out of Los Angeles. She studied Fashion Design at The Art Institute of Chicago, and The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, from which she graduated in 2021.

After studying she worked in production at a wholesale clothing company where she learned the in's and out's of clothing manufacturing. Realizing the reproductions of mass production she decided to take a step back and work on her own practice. The ethics of slow fashion drew her in and had her experimenting with the idea of one off clothing.

Gabrielle is currently working on her brand, named 888gg9 (pronounced exactly how it looks) where she experiments with different ethically produced materials, making clothing that is one of a kind. This allows her to experiment with form, materials, and texture.
